There are a lot of helpful comments on the last post. Thank you very much, kind people. I shall respond to each individual in turn when I feel like a human being again (and not a rat’s breakfast. Don’t ask. If you’re on the platform at Mughalsarai Junction at half two in the morning waiting for

JaP is here...with his version of the " Ghats of Benares"
Aah Benaras! Always wanted to capture the aura of mystery in those miserly lit gullies of Benaras with the Nikon ever since I saw Joy Baba Felunath for the first time. It almost happened on my last visit to the motherland, but for the extreme distance from my two ports of landing.
Tooooosheeebaaaa....
Not toshiba. Beautiful, lightweight, but damn difficult if a part goes wrong. I would personally suggest HP tx100; its gorgeous, and compact. and has touchpad and the whole shebang.
And my Compaq lappy's been working nonstop for the last two years and its no hassle. HP DV 9000series is NOTGOOD, though DV2000 and 6700 series shows some promise, and trust me when I say this HDX series for extreme multimedia is OSSUM....
Enuff advertising i say.
But i have worked for Dell AND HP and I know.
SBug, Arsenik, I checked out Kedar Ghat. And the alleys. And the Ramnagar Fort. Coming soon ...
Panu and ??!, the Toshiba I want is too expensive. Check comments on the earlier post for updates.

Don't you worry, Sir. Soon The aarti performed on the ghats of Benaras will be branded, promoted and marketed. I get this idea from enlarging the micro level picture in Kolkata where I noticed Chakla being promoted as a pilgrimage hot-spot as Lokenath Baba's birthplace. If this is a start, how can Benaras be far behind.
JAP, o JAP, wherefore art thou? Write something. If you're feeling human now.
Winter morning, coffee, clouded gray light over my shoulder ... everything's right, but the words don't come.

It's only a temporary dry patch. Not to worry. End-of-year reckoning and all that. Happy new year. :)
This is what we did for our honeymoon. No regrets on that count.
I'm so glad we don't market it. Enough firangs already.
