I'll refrain from commenting about the pix, though they look very nice even in their posterised form, but, having bee to this place recently, I'll say this...it's a disgrace. Real fire on the water would be a nice way to start cleaning up the holy mess.
first went to haridwar during the kumbh mela and almost got hit by a stone thrown by a naga sadhu when i was trying to take their pic! always loved haridwar and rishikesh too, despite the dirt, crowds, tourists, and fake sadhus.
beautiful .. whatever the significance of floating these flowe - diya ensembles , they look beautiful. I cherish a childhood memory of fire on the water in Varanasi when I was very small .. u must have had a lovely holiday
WOooowwww...lovely.

very nice pix. but choice of lyrics... "they burned down the gambling house / it died with an awful sound"... scary connotations for me :-|

ReplyDeletelovely. esp the one where the water looks - well purple - and theres the diya floating on it. Gorgeous
