One of my favourite places in the world
Rather fetching, what!

Objects of my personal jihad ... oh well

Stupid bird tucked its head in at the last moment. Then it flew away.
Recalcitrant. Delinquent. Gah!

"So different from the family life of our own dear Queen ..."

Disgustingly idyllic

Beautiful... Is that Bangalore ? Certainly not the Bangalore I live in...
ReplyDeleteTease!
ReplyDeleteOoooh! Tolly Club is beautiful, whatever else it might be. :)
ReplyDeleteI miss Tolly!
ReplyDeleteSo this is Tollyclub is it?? I havent had the privilege on getting into tollyclub even once in my damn life. Does that DQ me from the parochial kolkata bong category??
ReplyDeleteThose are some lovely pics. Enough to make me turn green with jealously. The closest we get to that here in Mumbai is tiny little Jogger's Park which you can take a full round of in under five minutes!
ReplyDeleteArrey your feed picked it up because I actually updated the post with the video. I assure you there is no intu-pintu-ness there, so kindly refrain from insinuating such insinuations.
ReplyDelete:-)
Wow. The thing about these post-colonial hangover places is that you keep them so much more nicely than we keep their equivalents in Britain.
ReplyDeleteThese lovely grounds ("griynds"), for example, would probably have had council houses built all over them.
We're a shadow of our former selves. Risible really.
the second snap makes me wonder about where you took it from - bcz you said you dont play golf?
ReplyDeletei'm around there most weekends (like dada-moni - no connection, though ;)) -will look out for you :)
teleute - whatever else ta ki?
tolly club is indeed very beautiful. thanks for the nice pictures.
ReplyDeleteI MISS TOLLY and the full service teas :(
ReplyDeletePicture perfect! A lazzzzzy Sunday aftrenoon in Tolly? Or after a gruelling round of squash and 25 non-stops laps in the pool? Envy u, sire, envy you, and ya miss Tolly, immensely:(
ReplyDeleteRather fetching, yes, old chap.
ReplyDeleteIs it really Tolly? If so, try out the bridle path after dark, when it's only lighted up by fireflies. Words honestly cannot describe it.
I was there once. Stayed there for a night. Ate breakfast at that very 'favourite spot' of yours....
ReplyDeleteIt was rather ...nice.
Amar ekta Question achhe ...
ReplyDeleteAchha eta kon Jayga?? Tolly club er moto dekhte kintu sheyal dekhe thik bhorsha pachhi na, jodio Saltlake e ekhono sheyal achhe sunechhi, Jyoti Basur barir kachhe.
Tolly club, is it? Did not want to display ignorance by asking earlier, but now that it's OFTC (Out Of The Closet, heh, I just coined the coolest abbreviation since WTF) I have no hesitation in saying it is entirely beautiful.
ReplyDeletethis wouldn't happen to be tolly club would it? Awesome place- with- more importantly- awesome food!
ReplyDeletehow's your kid doing, btw? Mine's turning out to be quite the little monster. Roumor has it that he takes after his mom.
Bald M – Bangalore?!?! BANGALORE?!! Drop by some time.
ReplyDeletePh – the kindness of my readers …
Jhantu – be my guest when you return
Aunty M – yeah right!
Prerona – weekends I lie in bed. Weekdays I try to get there by 6 (a.m.!) and out by 8
Sue - too hot to chase fireflies now, maybe in winter. The bridle path is lovely in the morning light too.
Panu – I posted earlier about seeing the jackals there, that’s why I took my camera over this time
Sensorcaine – I’m sorry, but the food is the down-side at Tolly (except for the pepper steaks and the dosai). Kid is fine, we have these arguments about which of us she takes after. So far I’m ahead on points.
Teleute, Rich, Rohini, DD, Chatter, Priya, Shakester, Marauder – I gloat!
